“Karakas” means “cause” in Sanskrit. . . Like something that makes something happen or exist. In a famous poem, the etymology ‘Kala’ is used to describe the one supreme deity Krishna as ‘the cause of all things’. Saturn is the karaka of obstacles, as Saturn rules “obstacles.” Wealth is ruled by Jupiter and beauty by Venus. This book teaches students and professional astrologers what each planet, sign, and house rules, i.e. whether it is a “karaka,” “signifier,” “ruler,” or “indicator.” It provides lists of people, subjects, and areas of life. ”Karaka is the root of astrology reading. Astrologers paint a picture of Aboriginal life by examining the placement of the planets in specific signs and houses and summarizing these placement cues. This Karakas collection was compiled by Das Goravani, creator of the popular astrology software Goravani Jyotish. To collect them, he used as many authoritative and recognized books as he could, including Vedic classics such as Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. There are many others, such as Jataka Parijata and Saravalli. He has gone to great lengths to compile this list from the most original and reliable sources. For your convenience, Karaka is listed in his four ways, alphabetically, by house, by planet, and by constellation.
